Bob Schram

Graphic Designer – Videographer – Animator

I have been writing, creating art, and performing as far back as I can remember. When I was in the fifth grade I wrote sketches, recorded my performances with my dad’s BETA camcorder, and edited by transferring footage from BETA to VHS on a separate VCR. I’ve been writing, performing, and recording ever since.

In 2009 I got involved with public access television. I wrote, performed, and edited a variety show called Credo for three years. I discussed theology followed by some comedy segments. My dad said, “when you’re talking about theology you’re so stiff, but when you’re doing comedy you’re comfortable.” Since I was a better comedian than theologian, I decided to focus more on comedy.

In 2017 I enrolled in the Second City’s Comedy Writing program in Chicago. I felt like a fish in water for the first time and ended up writing a sketch revue entitled ‘Til Death Do Us Party that ran for four weeks.

That same year I started graduate school at Marquette University’s College of Communications and received my Master of Arts in 2019. Through this program I discovered I was also talented with graphic design and graphic art. I became a wiz with Adobe Creative Suite, especially PhotoShop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro. My writing skills were also enhanced; so much so that I taught Comedy Sketch Writing at Marquette.

Since 2021 I have been a Graphic Designer and Video Editor in Chicagoland. I have designed newspaper ads, billboards, and web content. Early in 2023 the agency wanted to dabble in animation, so I taught myself Character Animator and acquired a skill I wanted since I was a kid.
